Datu Magoling, B'laan Chief, Mindanao, Southern Philippines, 1996.

Datu Magoling, Chief of the Blaan people, claimed that Western Mining, an Australian company, approached him with an offer of $20,000 and prostitutes to accept the go-ahead of a new gold mine on his tribal land. He rejected it. One month later ground troops and planes machine gunned and bombed his community killing 8 people and displacing 120 families from the area.
